In an open roof safari van, this tour starts with a 118 km (75 miles), approximately 1:30hrs drive southwest of Arusha town. The Tarangire National Park has some of the highest population density of elephants as compared to anywhere in Tanzania. The elephants here count about 300. During dry season, migratory wildebeests, zebras, buffalos, impalas, gazelles, giraffes, hartebeests and elands crowd the shrinking lagoons. Huge baobab trees make Tarangire special and those acacia trees inhabit the tree climbing pythons and the nesting birds of life numbering about 550 species.
After a relaxing in a mid range accommodation, wake up early morning to experience a new amazing location -The Ngorongoro Crater. Ngorongoro is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest un-flooded and unbroken caldera in the world which measures bout 20kms (13miles) across, 600 meters deep and 300 sq kms (191 sq miles). It is one of Africa’s most famous sites and is said to have the highest density of wildlife in Africa. It is home to approximately 30,000 animals, 25,000 being large mammals, . Encounter massive herds of zebra, wildebeest, and gazelle. This area affords an opportunity to spot the Big Five, which includes African elephant, leopard, the black manned lion, buffalo, and the rare black rhinoceros. The tour ends with driving back to Arusha drop off at your hotel (Approximately 2hrs drive).
